About TechNews
TechNews carries news and information about campus technology at UC Davis. It is written for general audiences, and often includes information not readily available elsewhere.
Who's it for?Faculty, staff and students at UC Davis, but anyone who follows campus tech at UC Davis might want to read it. (People off campus are welcome, too.)
Why read it?Technology touches most parts of UC Davis, and TechNews tells you about campus tech developments that might involve your work or studies.
What does it talk about?TechNews topics range from email and wireless access, to educational technology that supports research, to security updates, and a lot more
Other features:The TechNews site includes an archive of past stories, plus a searchable database that dates to 1999. (The archive includes stories that appeared in the IT Times campus technology newsletter.)
Is TechNews free to readers?Yes
Frequency:Items are posted to technews.ucdavis.edu most weeks of the year; the site currently averages about 120 to 140 items annually.
Who produces it?The Information and Events unit of Information and Educational Technology. (Most of the items involve IET at some level.)
Who writes the items?Nearly all are written by writers in the I&E unit, in cooperation with other parts of IET or the campus. The service also includes a few security items from other news sources, posted to TechNews because they are particularly relevant to UC Davis campus tech.

Is this site the only place to find TechNews items?No. You can receive TechNews items via an RSS feed, a link from other campus Web sites, or subscribe to receive TechNews headlines by email every Monday morning.
