"Creativity and Productivity" are the twin themes of this year's Summer Institute on Teaching and Technology (SITT), scheduled Sept. 8-11 in 26 Wellman. Registration has begun, lunch is included, and UC Davis faculty can attend for free.

The campus is replacing the NetID server, which provides Internet addresses for a great many campus computers. Most people won't notice a difference--the work simply replaces a vital but outdated system that has reached the end of its service life.

You could call it spring cleaning, except it continues. Information and Educational Technology has refreshed and updated several of its Web sites and pages over the past few months, removing references to vanished services (such as the dial-up modem pool) and inserting new contact information.

The summer schedule of SmartSite training sessions has been posted. Each week from now until Sept. 10 will offer drop-in clinics, as well as sessions aimed at new users. Faculty, graduate students and staff are welcome. Departments can also arrange for customized training.
