Stay alert for newest phishing scam

08/19/2008

The latest phishing scam sent to UC Davis email accounts surfaced Aug. 16. The return address has already been blocked, but Information and Educational Technology is publicizing the message in case it resurfaces with a different return address.

This fraud is at least the seventh since spring to target campus email accounts. Like others of its kind, it asks the recipient to disclose his or her account password--information the campus never asks anyone to send by email. Read more about how to avoid email scams here, and if you have any questions contact the IT Express computing services help desk at (530) 754-HELP (4357) or ithelp@ucdavis.edu .
